PRIVACY: TECHNOLOGY, MODELS, & GOVERNANCE

There are important enabling links between Privacy & Security and Commerce. Large democratic world economies currently have important initiatives that involves establishing a foundation of Privacy for their citizens. In the US, the National Institute of Standards and Technologies, which is situated under the US Department of Commerce, oversees a White House Initiative entitled the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace. In Europe, significant funding (millions of Euros) is also allocated to R&D initiatives (e.g. PRIPARE) in the area.

NIST formally launched consultation efforts in the field of privacy engineering at a workshop in April 2014. Dawn was honored to present her and OASIS PbD-SE and PMRM Privacy Committees' work progress to that date as part of the workshop's agenda.
