I did my undergraduate work at Glendon College in English and Linguistics and M.A. and Ph.D. at York University in English Linguistics, specializing in linguistic theory and description and the linguistic description of discourse. I am interested in applications of discourse analysis and linguistics for textual interpretation in clinical,  forensic and literary settings and in the neural correlates of linguistic and discourse phenomena. My current research addresses the discourse correlates of dementias, especially degenerative diseases associated with ageing such as Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia. I coordinate the linguistics program at Saint Mary's.
