ENGL 2391: The Study of Short Fiction

This course is an introduction to the critical analysis of short fiction. It uses various theoretical frameworks, including marxism, feminism, psychoanalysis and new historicism, in order to critically evaluate canonical works by a range of writers, including Ernest Hemingway, Joseph Conrad, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Franz Kafka, William Faulkner, Eudora Welty, Flannery O'Connor, Samuel Beckett, and others.
